Strings Lessons
Our string instructors teach bass, cello, viola, and violin. Whether you want to play classical music or the fiddle, we have a teacher for you! We accept students as young as five years old (or younger with teacher acceptance).
Beginning students will be taught the correct posture, hand placement, and bow positioning for their instrument. Students will learn fundamental techniques and how to produce the best sound on their instrument. String lessons are based on classical repertoire, but students are encouraged to bring in their favorite songs they’ve either learned by ear or through sheet music. Each lesson incorporates singing and clapping to help with playing in tune and phrasing. We teach a combination of rote, reading, and theory to help students in both solo and ensemble situations.
Your child will change instruments as they grow. Our teachers will help you choose the right size violin for you!
