Piano & Voice Guest Teacher
Diana Cardenas is a pianist and singer from Guadalajara, Mexico. She graduated with a Bachelor of Music, with a Concentration in Piano Performance, under the guidance of Carlos Alberto Gutierrez at the University of Guadalajara. Diana also possesses a keen interest in musical pedagogy and a great love for teaching, which has motivated her to participate in music summer courses in Hungary, studying Kodály pedagogy, and to continue teaching in various settings to students of all ages and backgrounds.
Her passion for chamber music led her to New Mexico, where she obtained her master’s degree in music with a Concentration in Collaborative Piano at The University of New Mexico, studying under the guidance of Professor Pamela Pyle. Additionally, she studied voice with Dr. Olga Flora and Prof. Paula Swalin. Diana has performed as a solo and collaborative pianist in various venues in Mexico, the United States, and Europe. As a singer, she has participated in numerous choirs across Mexico and the U.S.
When she is not playing piano, singing, or teaching, she enjoys spending time with her daughter and husband. Diana also loves swimming, biking, and camping, and finds pleasure in reading and learning new languages.
