Soprano Lillian Ridout, a passionate performer and vocal educator, is native to Albuquerque, where she completed her Bachelor’s in Vocal Performance at the University of New Mexico. She went on to attain a Master’s in Vocal Performance from the Lamont School of Music in Denver, Colorado where she was the recipient of the Denver Lyric Opera Guild Award.


Highlights of Lillian’s operatic roles include Fiordiligi in Cosi Fan Tutte, Erste Dame in Die Zauberflote, and most recently, Le Feu and Therese/Tiresias in a double bill of L’enfant et les Sortiliges and Les Mamelles des Tiresias, respectively.

Lillian has a deep passion for contemporary opera, experimental music, and cinematic/game scores, and she dedicates much time to researching and performing these genres. She is also commonly involved in musical theater projects, having performed in numerous showcases in and around the UNM theatrical scene in addition to appearing as a featured soloist in some New Mexico Philharmonic Orchestra’s “Pops” concerts.


Vocal lessons with Lillian are an adventure through healthy vocal technique and fearless self-expression. She is experienced and enthusiastic in teaching classical, musical theater, jazz, and contemporary styles. Above all, no matter the genre, Lillian strives to inspire passion and excellence in music.


When she isn’t singing, you can find Lillian creating art, indulging in a favorite game, baking something delicious, or curled up with a good book.
